The legacy of Dunlop tyres began way back in 1888 when John Boyd Dunlop invented the pneumatic tyre. It's hard to believe that tyres as we know them today, actually derive from John deciding to wrap his son's tricycle wheel with a rubber tube inflated with air. This was to revolutionise the world of transport and has laid the foundation for every type of motorcycle tyre that's in production today. During their 120+ year history, Dunlop have always lead the way when it comes to tyre technology and the development of new concepts and industry standards. Dunlop were, for example, the first to apply race tyre performance standards to tyres intended for the road. They continue this methodology today, using their on track experience to develop motorcycle tyres for every bike & biker out there.
